"Can you help me out Mommy?"

Such an innocent question, unless you know the toddler asking it. Whenever I hear this my heart pounds because it means that Davis has gotten himself in some sort of predicament, usually a tad dangerous. Tonight was no exception, I was sweeping the floor when I heard his voice from behind me, I turned to look and the little guy was up on top of the refrigerator!

Daddy came in to assess the situation and instead of having heart palpitations like me, he ordered me to take pictures! He seemed to be proud of our little guy's ingenuity, daring, and athleticism. I got a couple of pictures taken before demanding that our baby be returned to the ground. What a crazy kiddo, although I hear from my mother in law that his daddy did the same thing. :)

Lipstick and a Toddler: A Very Messy Tale

"Look how quiet and good Davis is watching Dora." I exclaimed to Billy as I made dinner. Davis was sitting in the living room on the floor in front of the television and had been for about 15 whole minutes, dicing onions had never been easier!

As I slid dinner into the oven and washed my hands I thought again how lucky I was to be able to get dinner going without Davis underfoot! I felt a small hand tugging at my shirt and Davis said, "Look Mommy I'm beautiful!" I looked down at my son, and quickly called to his Daddy.

"Get the bath running for your kid!" Billy came to see what the fuss was and together we surveyed the damage. An entire tube of lipstick plastered across Davis' face and hands. Annoyance at the mess and the loss of my favorite lipstick was quickly wiped away by Davis' very proud of himself smile.

"Daddy I'm like Mommy!" We each grabbed and elbow and hauled Davis to the bathroom. He was delighted that his little stunt would result in a bath. (I am of the personal opinion that most of his naughty messy tricks are done for the extra bath time.)

We unzipped his footie jammies and to our surprise the little guy had also gotten hold of a blue ink pen and scribbled all over his tummy. "I colored my belly!" was his delighted announcement.
After a bath, supper, and new jammies being put on Davis was ready for bed. Once he was quiet in his room we were left with quite a mess but somehow I didn't really mind.

I hurried this morning to get a couple of shots of Betsi's crazy shoes. They didn't turn out well but you really have to see them.

Zoo Adventure

Yesterday started out almost surreal. When Davis woke up, in our bed of course, it was 11:30!!! We have not slept past 7 in years! Amazing. I had a horrible headache but some sinus meds and a vicadin did the trick and we were ready for our adventure. Ever since Billy and I have been married he starts almost every weekend day asking me if I am ready for an adventure, and it almost always turns out that way. :) We loaded kids in the van and picked up Betsi's boyfriend Danny and were off to the zoo. It was 62 degrees and the animals were almost all out and moving about. Billy and I had a great time taking hundreds of pics and goofing off with the kids. By the time we made it to the bears almost at the end of the zoo it was getting cold!

We went to the mall where Betsi was going to get to go to Hot Topic and pick out a pair of boots that we had promised her. When we got in the store she decided that awesome crazy boots weren't going to do the trick and she and Danny set off on a trek to find "rainbow shoes". I had no idea what she was talking about. Oh well.

The boys and I wandered around, picked up a new pair of shoes, on sale, for Davis who has amazingly fast growing feet, and a gently used basketball game for Billy. After about half an hour of looking for Danny and Betsi we found them along with the ugliest pair of shoes I have ever saw.

It turns out Betsi's dream shoes are black canvass hi-top Converse with neon ice cream cones that have faces and fangs, a strange telephone looking thing, and assorted other colorful drawings, weird. When she wakes up I'll post a pic of them, they're crazy.

We ended our day with dinner and relaxing at home and it was wonderful. Sadie had gotten to the Christmas tree while we were gone which just reminded me that it is past time for it to come down.

Anyway, here are a couple of pics from yesterday.

So this post is basically for my Momma. :) Here are pics of Betsi and Liam with their gifts. Betsi LOVES her new jacket. She immediately called her boyfriend and called me "mom" in the conversation. lol. Love you!!!! I would like to thank my Mom and Dad(Joe) and sister for treating all of my kiddos the same. I love that Betsi and Liam aren't "step" to them.
